יהוה (YHWH): YEH-HO-VAW’ (a proper name, but replaced with verbs like God and the LORD. Appears around 7000 times in OT & 1000 in NT)

תּוֹרָה (torah): direction, instruction, law. Often called The Law, but Torah does not mean that.

מוֹעֵד (moed): appointed time, place, or meeting (often called seasons)

תְּרוּעָה (teruah): a shout or blast of war, alarm, or joy

חֹ֫דֶשׁ (chodesh): the new moon, month, monthly (first day of the month)

Genesis 1:13-15

14 And Elohim said, “Let lights come to be in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and appointed times, and for days and years,

Leviticus 23:23-25

24 ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you have a rest, a remembrance of blowing of trumpets, a set-apart gathering.

Numbers 29:1-6

1 ‘And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you have a set-apart gathering, you do no servile work, it is a day of blowing the trumpets for you.

Psalm 81:1-5 (Number 10:10)

3 Blow the ram’s horn at the time of the New Moon, At the full moon, on our festival day.

Psalm 89:15-16

Blessed are the people Who know the festal trumpet-call! They walk, O יהוה, in the light of Your face. In Your Name they rejoice all day long, And they are exalted in Your righteousness.

Nehemiah 8:1-12

2 And Ezra the priest brought the Torah before the assembly of both men and women and all who could hear with understanding, on the first day of the seventh month.

Did God REALLY say…Yes He did & He meant it

Genesis 3:1 And the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which יהוה Elohim had made, and he said to the woman, “Is it true that Elohim has said, ‘Do not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

The appointed times of YHWH are not Jewish festivals.

Leviticus 23

2 “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and say to them, ‘The appointed times of יהוה, which you are to proclaim as set-apart gatherings, My appointed times, are these:

44 Thus did Mosheh speak of the appointed times of יהוה to the children of Yisra’ĕl.

Children of Israel

Romans 10

12 Because there is no distinction between Yehuḏite and Greek, for the same Master of all is rich to all those calling upon Him.

Romans 11 (Compare Jeremiah 11)

17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, have been grafted in among them, and came to share the root and fatness of the olive tree,

Ephesians 2

12 that at that time you were without Messiah, excluded from the citizenship of Yisra’ĕl and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no expectation and without Elohim in the world.

19 So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the set-apart ones and members of the household of Elohim,

πληρόω (pléroó): to make full, to complete

Romans 15:19

in power of signs and wonders, in power of the Spirit of Elohim, so that from Yerushalayim and round about to Illurikon I have completed the preaching(pléroó) of the Good News of Messiah.

Matthew 5

17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete(pléroó).

18 “For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done.

19 “Whoever, then, breaks one of the least of these commands, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the reign of the heavens; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the reign of the heavens.

20 “For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall by no means enter into the reign of the heavens.

Clearly doesn’t say the Torah is done away with.

A New Covenant is not a New Law

Hebrews 8:7-13 (This passage is quoting Jeremiah 31)

13 By saying, ‘renewed,’ He has made the first old. Now what becomes old and growing aged is near disappearing.

Jeremiah 31:31-34

33 “For this is the covenant I shall make with the house of Yisra’ĕl after those days, declares יהוה: I shall put My Torah in their inward parts, and write it on their hearts. And I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.

Romans 7 (Released from Law. YHWH’s law is holy & spiritual. Law cannot SAVE from sin, only Jesus does)

6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Evil in the Last Days

2 Timothy 3

4 …lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness…

16 All Scripture is breathed by Elohim and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for setting straight, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of Elohim might be fitted, equipped for every good work.

τέλος (telos): end, termination, the limit at which a thing ceases to be, the aim, the purpose

Romans 10

4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

(To the true believer Jesus is the goal – the end purpose. How we should strive to be & He kept the law perfectly. His law, not man-made traditions)

Sin is ‘missing the mark’

Torah comes from the word Yarah, which is ‘to throw’ or ‘to shoot’

We don’t stop sinning to be saved

We don’t obey to be saved

We stop sinning & obey because WE ARE SAVED.
